Corona del Mar is an affluent neighborhood, situated at the south end of Newport Beach along the bluffs facing the sea. It means Crown of the Sea in Spanish. Because of its coastal location, Corona del Mar is a popular surf spot and its beaches are among the most beautiful in the world. The two beaches are Corona del mar State Beach and Crystal Cove State Park.
The local high school is Corona del Mar High School, which is a combination of a middle school (7th and 8th grade) and a high school. Corona del Mar High is located in the East Bluff neighborhood of Newport Beach, CA and is a part of the Newport Mesa Unified School District.
