Irvine is a planned development which began in the 1960's. In 2008 Irvine was chosen by CNNMoney.com as the fourth best place to live it the United States. The reason for this was the large supply of quality schools, jobs and housing. With a population of about 217,686 as of January 1, 2010Irvine also boasts one of the lowest violent crime rates among all cities in the US with more than 100,000.
With many biking and hiking trails, Irvine is an active community and caters to providing a safe haven for families. Irvine is home to a number of corporations, particularly in the technology and semiconductor sectors.
