Laguna Beach is a seaside artist community located in southern Orange County, CA. With beautiful warm weather along the coast of California, daytime temperatures average from 67 degreesF in Jan to 79degreesF in July. Water temperatures are some of the warmest ranging from 60degrees in Feb to up to 75 degrees in mid-September.
From the shoreline, the land rises quickly into hills and canyons of the San Joaquin Hills. At the highest point in Laguna Beach is Temple Hill in the Top of the World neighborhood, at 1,007 feet. Because Laguna Beach is surrounded by hills, the only way to get into the area is via Coast Highway or State Route 133 crossing the hills through Laguna Canyon.
Laguna Beach is bordered by Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel and Dana Point.
In 1979, Laguna Beach was described as "a paradise, an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Each summer the Pageant of the Masters is held. This event recreates artwork with people posing in a set that looks like the original art. Other summer festivals in Laguna Beach include the Sawdust Art Festival and Festival of Arts.
